Cancer
Cancer, also called malignancy, is the abnormal growth of cells that divide uncontrollably. There are more than 100 types of cancer, including breast, skin, lung, colon, prostate cancers, and lymphoma. While symptoms vary depending on the type, common signs include unusual lumps, unexplained weight loss, fatigue, and persistent pain.
How Cancer Spreads:
- Benign tumors: Noncancerous, do not spread, and usually don’t harm surrounding tissues.
- Malignant tumors: Cancerous, crowd out healthy cells, interfere with body functions, and can spread to other parts of the body through metastasis (via blood or lymphatic system).
Causes & Risk Factors:
- Genetic mutations or inherited predispositions
